Position/Title:                     PROCESS ENGINEER - LASER BARS




This individual will be responsible for the wafer processing operations used to manufacture high power GaAs based lasers. Responsible to monitor, analyze and enhance manufacturing operations to improve process efficiency, quality, and cost.


Principle Duties & Responsibilities



  • Continuously develops and improves processes such as scribe and break, stacking, unstacking, and visual inspection of laser diode bars
  • Responsible ownership of process improvements, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Collect and analyze SPC data for problem solving and development purposes
  • Strong focus on project oriented work with goals to solve problems sustainably
  • Process sustaining activities include investigate yield excursions, disposition product to performance specifications, develop procedures and create process documentation
  • Responsible for installation, operation, and maintenance of production equipment
  • Performs process development activities on equipment to maintain high quality of product
  • Develop, approve, reviews work instructions and documentation to support standardized work in the production area
  • Organizes workflow to minimize waste and contain total costs of production
  • Assists in the training and certification of operators
  • Review new product models and documentation for completeness and effective implementation
  • Develop and execute experiments to test new components and processes before use in products
    • Excellent communication and team work skills as well as capability to work on projects and tasks in a matrix organization
    • Ability to work independently and structure complex problems with a strong drive to solve problems
    • Strong organizational and multi-task skills




This position requires industry experience along with a Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or robotics.
