A manufacturer of compact high performance lasers used in biotechnology, analytical chemistry, particle analysis, semiconductor metrology and gas sensing is expanding its

US based sales team with an additional senior level Key Account / Business Development Manager to be based out of Northern California.  The BDM will support the parent company's entire product portfolio with particular focus on the OEM Life Science instrumentation market. 

The Key Account/Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting and developing selected OEM business relations throughout North America.




− Sales of high performance lasers to new customers as well as established key accounts in North America.

− Identify key players target markets and develop targeted account penetration plans

− Cultivate high quality relationships with new customers through value added consultative selling and after sales service

− Provide first line technical customer support by developing detailed knowledge of companys’ Photonics’ products and how they perform in customer applications.

− Work with senior managers to negotiation long term supply and development agreements

− Regular interactions with the company’s engineering team in Sweden and Kassel in order to address complex technical issues and provide complete and timely feedback to customer’s request for information.

− Prepare and maintain sales forecasts and budgets, participate in reporting of sales and financial performance to the mother company, attend trade conferences and exhibitions and travel to customer sites as required

− 30-50% travel within North America and occasional international travel

− Provide mentoring and guidance to the rest of the sales team.



− Technical education (minimum BS or BA) and work experience from OEM sales of lasers of other photonics products.
